Brewing Something Special: Local Spotlight ft. Kimberly Griggers from CJ’s Coffee Barn

EPISODE #13 SHOW NOTES

I’m excited to welcome a local business owner, Kimberly Griggers, onto the podcast today!

Kimberly is the owner of CJ’s Coffee Barn, a drive-thru coffee stand, in downtown Winchester, TN. Originally from Washington, she completed a barista/owner training course at the Seattle Barista Academy before relocating to Tennessee. Kimberly always had the intent to open her own latte stand, and after moving to Tennessee to meet her (now) husband, her dream became a reality. CJ’s Coffee Barn is the one and only drive-thru coffee barn in the area, offering over 70 flavors in a variety of espressos, smoothies, lotus lattes, and more.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about:

  • Kimberly’s journey to becoming a business owner and buying a coffee stand

  • Struggles with having a drive-thru coffee stand

  • Important lessons Kimberly has learned since opening CJ’s Coffee Barn

  • Which social media platform(s) and types of advertising works best

  • How the JOE app has helped the growth of CJ’s Coffee Barn

  • Kimberly’s best advice for anyone wanting to open a coffee stand

Brewing something special with their coffee and within the community has been a fun and creative outlet for Kimberly and her team.

Kimberly and I had such a fun conversation talking about all things business, coffee, and more. She is truly passionate about the work she is doing, and she and her staff love getting to be creative with their menu for CJ’s Coffee Barn. If you’re visiting the Winchester, TN area, you’ll definitely want to stop by CJ’s Coffee Barn and see what’s brewing!
