Finding Community Over Competition with Ciera Shaw

EPISODE 2 SHOW NOTES

I’m excited to welcome my very first guest, Ciera Shaw, onto the podcast today!

Ciera is a virtual assistant, social media manager, Pinterest expert, and all around awesome lady. She’s been in business almost 8 years now with her social media management business, Mediocre Mom LLC. Ciera loves building up small shops and making friends along the way; she loves helping others succeed, and is truly passionate about what she does.

In today’s episode, we’re talking about:

  • Ciera’s story of getting started working in the online world

  • How social media has drastically changed over the years

  • The importance of finding community over competition as small business owners

  • Understanding and valuing what your customer wants (and will actually buy from you)

Ultimately, finding community over competition in the online space is a positive thing.

Ciera and I have found the collaboration that happens in the online marketing space is pretty awesome. It doesn’t have to be a negative, cut-throat type of situation, because there is plenty of work to go around. Community over competition really is key-don’t be afraid to find your people so you can set yourself and your customers up well! Being able to share and send referrals to other small business owners who can really help a potential client (and are able to take them on) goes a long way.
